Background
The report on ‘Low carbon Development Options for Indonesia’ produced by the World Bank in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance for Indonesia, puts forward a series of economic development options for Indonesia that will help in the transition to a green economy. The phase 1 report recognises that sound environmental management, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, and economic efficiency and growth are compatible goals. This part of the study investigated the greenhouse gas emissions of the country as well as the economic policy instruments available for addressing climate change mitigation and adaption in Indonesia.
