Description
This partnership is a collaboration between SDSN and the UN SIDS Resident Coordinator Offices, under the guidance of Prof. Jeffrey Sachs, to produce SIDS-specific research that could contribute to promote SDG progress and access to financing in SIDS. This partnership aims at providing meaningful inputs to global summits, including the SDG Summit at Heads of States Level in September 2023, and to the next 10-year program for SIDS after the expiration of the Samoa Pathway in 2024.
- Establishment at SDSN of a dedicated research team working on SIDS-related issues under the leadership of Prof. Jeffrey Sachs
- Usual steps for the implementation of research projects, including (i) desk research on the topics, (ii) data collection and cleaning, (iii) development of an empirical strategy, (iv) analysis of the results, (v) policy implications assessment, (vi) presentation of draft reports/tools for review and comments, (vii) revision of the deliverables to include comments, (viii) publication of the works
- Organization of high-level meetings, workshops, and/or seminars to present and discuss research results
- Development of SIDS-based knowledge networks and databases to support sharing of local experiences
