Description
protection, creativity, and education. Our projects aim to promote the conservation and valorisation of the marine environment through activities
that are also able to act as a driver for sustainable economic and social development.
Worldrise projects are coordinated and carried out by young professionals and they directly involve university students and recent graduates in order to
offer them the opportunity to combine academic knowledge with practical experience. Our organisation believes that the path for change lays in the professional empowerment and leadership training of the next generations of conservation leaders.
Worldrise is the product of passion and dedication of a group of young individuals from diverse professional backgrounds who have decided to provide their expertise for the protection of the ocean. Currently, we are 12 team members working with determination and passion to bring forward the Worldrise mission. We can also count on the help of multiple volunteers, who participate to our campaigns. The organisation was founded in Italy, but collaborates with many international organisations as well as directly involving young professionals from different countries around the world.
Thanks to the help of our collaborators, multiple projects focusing on a variety of topics, have been developed since 2013.
Worldrise projects are based on awareness-raining, creativity and education, and range from environmental conservation, to social sustainability, keeping in mind the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by the UN.
Our organisation has four main thematic areas:
Plastic Pollution
Marine Protected Areas
Sustainable Tourism
Sustainable Fishery
All of our projects fits under these thematic areas and have a strong focus on education and awareness building:
The Gulf of Dolphins - Creation and promotion of new forms of economic and social development, based on the valorisation of local natural resources in the area of Golfo Aranci (Sardinia).
Full Immersion MPA - A series of educational activities and scientific studies to enhance the environmental value of Marine Protected Areas.
#Batti5 For a Cleaner Sea - A creative and educational project to build awareness among the younger generation on the threats of plastic pollution to
our ocean.
#TargetPlasticFree - Create a network of commercial activities starting from Genova (now under development also in Milan), whose common goal is to
eliminate the usage of single-use plastic, and replacing it with more sustainable alternatives, such as reusable or compostable materials.
SEAstanibleSEAfood Guide - Educate on sustainable fishing and the responsible use of seafood, created in collaboration with the best Mediterranean chefs.
A-Mare the Eolian Islands - Promotion and dissemination of cultural and environmental values of coastal marine environments of the Aeolian Islands.
