National capacity building workshop, “Improved Local and National Government Capacities for Localizing SDGs and National Development Strategy-1: Progress Through VLRs in Zimbabwe”

Background
The Division for Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DSDG/UNDESA), in collaboration with the Government of Zimbabwe, the Office of the Resident Coordinator and UNDP, is organizing a national capacity building workshop on “Improved Local and National Government Capacities for Localizing SDGs and National Development Strategy-1: Progress Through Voluntary Local Reviews in Zimbabwe” in Kadoma, from 4-6 October 2023.
The workshop will bring together local and national government officials and stakeholders for capacity building on the practice of carrying out voluntary local reviews (VLRs) as a tool for monitoring SDG implementation and supporting inclusive sustainable development planning, coordination with national governmental processes, data collection, stakeholder engagement and leaving no one behind. The event is carried out with the support of Italy for the DESA-implemented project on Improved local and national government capacities for localizing SDGs progress through Voluntary Local Reviews.
