Tourism2030 - DestiNet Services has been established as a professional global multi-stakeholder online resource base to implement the 2030 Agenda. The knowledge base content is administered by the knowledge base Triangle Knowledge Alliance, It contains topic information, education and training opportunities, a Going Green toolkit for destinations, SMEs and certification bodies, and expert back up, all to deliver certified SCP for the tourism sector in protected areas, or in destinations and componies who are adopting sustainability approaches.
Implementation of the Project/Activity

The Portal is being implemented through the Erasmus funded TRIANGLE Project and the development of the Portal Partnership, which has launched the Travel Green Planet Mapping Initiative. This initiative aims to map the certification of all tourism activity in protected areas by 2030.

Capacity

The TRIANGLE network is expanding to cover the whole of Europe by the end of 2019. It will also upscale to the global level through the Portal Partnership.

Governed

The portal is managed and coordinated by the Ecotrans Network, who maintain its independent stance. Currently a European network of universities has been established in the TRIANGLE project to manage the topic content and provide training and education. An independent evaluation of the project is made on a quarterly basis. The Portal Partnership offers participating organisations to opportunity to link to and develop database content.
