About NilePreneurs NilePreneurs is a nationwide initiative funded by the Central Bank of Egypt, the Egyptian Banking Sector, and in cooperation with the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and other national and international entities. NilePreneurs has been supporting startups and MSMEs in the domains of manufacturing, agriculture, and digital transformation through applying different innovation instruments. The initiative is managed by Nile University and has been expanding to several other universities, including Cairo University (sponsoring FEPS business incubator). Three Design Houses have been established at Ain Shams University, Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport, and Al-Azhar University (Qena). In addition to sponsoring Innovation Hub (I-Hub) at Ain Shams University, and it is still growing. Since its inception, NilePreneurs has been addressing gaps in the Egyptian market via its unique portfolio of programs. CBE started officially the initiative, NilePreneurs in early 2019 after one year of a pilot phase. The aim of that initiative was establishing an infrastructure to support entrepreneurship and MSME’s ecosystem in the strategic sectors of Agriculture, Manufacturing and Digital Transformation. Accordingly, the objective had been set to improve the MSMEs innovation capacity, enabling their growth, which shall help in addressing localization, job creation, and improving local companies’ export potential.
