    Description
    Description
Kayama Kogyo Co., Ltd. is located in Toyokawa City, Aichi Prefecture, in Japan, and has been engaged in the intermediate treatment of industrial waste as its core business for over 60 years. Since its founding, the company has been dedicated to the proper industrial waste treatment and environmental preservation. In addition, we have also been committed to providing clear information about our plant operations to the local community and promising not to violate the surrounding environment. Regarding our commitment to the education for sustainable development, we have been involved in the local primary schools for more than 10 years, to provide experience-based learning opportunities and our plant tours so that the school children can learn about the correct knowledge about handling the waste in small-scale and large-scale. In preparation for the publication of our Sustainability Report in 2021, we have determined our six materialities in line with the SDG Compass that Kayama Kogyo can contribute toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 1. Proper waste management / Circular economy participation - goal 12, 11 2. Contribution to carbon neutral society - goal 7, 13 3. Coexist with community - goal 4, 11, 17 4. Coexist with environment - goal 15 5. Continuous effort for the working environment improvement - goal 3, 8 6. Compliance with the law - goal 16 These materialities were compiled by the Corporate Planning Department and shared with the Integrated Management System Committee (IMS), which is managed by the chiefs of each department, and with the Health and Safety Committee (HSC), before being proposed to the Board of Directors for adoption. We are committed to promoting sustainability as a whole-company in cooperating with each initiative. The company materialities will continue to be the linchpin for key decisions making by the company through 2030 and for the further future. All materialities are reviewed at least once a year during the Sustainability Report Review to reflect on the targets and results. The results are then shared with each committee and reported to the Board of Directors to promote the PDCA cycle.
    Expected Impact
There are quantitative targets for each materiality that we keep monitoring based on the factual numbers. Since our materialities are linked to SDGs goals, we can contribute to achieve a sustainable society as a result. The impact would be on all stakeholders related to our materialities; our employees, the local community, business partners, financial institutions, the environment, and so on. We are dedicated to bring the best impact by following our materialities which we promised in our slogan “Bringing Clean Daily Life to the World.”
