    Description
    Climate Change Africa Opportunities (CCAO) has set up a very competitive incubation program specializing in the promotion and support of green entrepreneurship with the aim of stimulating and strengthening the capacities of young green entrepreneurs (aged 18 to 35 years) promoters of projects / startups as well as other local initiatives of women and indigenous peoples demonstrating technological and or traditional knowledge, new ideas and initiatives offering and or likely to offer services, innovative technological or indigenous solutions in the fields of agriculture, livestock, renewable energies, water, hygiene and sanitation, transport, buildings, prevention and management of climate disasters, education and climate and environmental communication , climate and environmental justice as well as in the field of conservation and resilient management of biodiversity and natural resources in DR Congo and Africa.
    Climate Change Africa Opportunities (CCAO) currently has a (digital) database of 3,721 young green entrepreneurs (including 27 in the process of incubation and 487 young green entrepreneurs with startups, projects, initiatives registered in its online database for the Green Prize for Sustainable Development in Africa 2020 program) and currently has a network of 320 young Green Climate Ambassadors involved in implementing many climate smart initiatives and influencing relevant policies to help build resilient communities in Africa.
    Expected Impact

    Over the past five years, CCAO has reached thousands of young people, women and local and indigenous populations in the Democratic Republic of Congo and in 14 African countries and has contributed to the launch and capacity building of 127 green startups and initiatives for young green entrepreneurs, women and indigenous peoples. To facilitate this work, CCAO has set up and coordinates a large pan-African green net-work currently comprising 54 national focal points and 1084 Young Entrepreneurs and Green Ambassadors for the climate involved in advocacy on policies and actions. adaptation and mitigation to climate change and who works with partners, government institutions and grassroots organizations and indigenous and local communities to implement many climate smart initiatives and influence relevant policies to help build resilient communities while supporting indigenous and technology initiatives in Africa.
