    Description
    Plastic Pollution & Cleanup Drive:
In India, Improper handling of solid waste and throw-away nature of the citizens make the rivers & oceans completely polluted with plastics and other substances. In this light, India Youth For Society (IYFS) launched 100-day-cleanup drive and then, we extended the campaign for one year. It is a service to the environment and public health. IYFS is a committed organization for awareness about the hazards by throw-away plastics and the team is dedicated to educate residents, tourists and the stakeholders involved in urban local bodies.

IYFS works on 4C concept to prevent marine pollution:
    1) Coastal Cleanup: Morning hours (6 a.m. to 8 a.m.) is dedicated for cleanup. Volunteers from different areas participate in the drive.
    2) Citizens Participation: Awareness about the hazards created by discarded plastics; the team defines 'awareness' as behavioural change of plastics consumption (plastics consumption to be reduced).
    3) Cloth Bags: The cheapest available alternative for plastic bags is a cloth bag. In addition to the cloth bags, paper bags & steel items are being promoted by our team.
    4) Collection & Recycling: The best solution for the plastic pollution is recycling (Proper Handling of Plastic Waste, Recycling Process & Production of garbage bins for free supply). In collaboration with the local municipality, a recycling plant has been established.

    India Youth For Society :
India Youth For Society (IYFS), an accredited organization to UNEP, was established in 2011 with head quarters at Visakhapatnam, India. The Society has grown from few nominal members to 34 active and efficient group members including volunteers. IYFS has four principal organs: Executive Committee, Big Brothers, Advisors Group and Review Committee. The team is committed to demonstrate change and to ask for individuals efforts to see plastic pollution free India and clean water bodies.

The aim of IYFS is to involve children & youth of India in improving civic sense and environmental concern so that we and our future generations have a fresh air and clean water. The drive would be continued till April 11, 2020. A report would be released at the end of the drive.
