Description

Our Initiative can best be described by the philosophy of "learning by doing". It is one based primarily on research, but also important are outreach and event planning. Our initiative focuses on two areas that require attention today in Jordanian society - education and its relation to unemployment. There is a plethora of highly skilled graduates, yet the job market in Jordan does not have opportunities for all. Our initiative primarily focuses on engineering graduates. One way to combat this is redirect graduates to where the market is strong - mainly in the information and tech arena Some methodological approach we employ are events and trainings. We are developing an "Into the market" event, where we go directly to universities and participate in job fairs and connect students with the private sector. We also conduct presentations, and group and one-one trainings with the goal of teaching students the soft-skills not usually taught in universities, but are nonetheless crucial in the labor market. We also do vocational trainings, primarily focusing on recent graduates, where we teach much needed tech skills such as web and software development, redirecting engineers towards IT and tech. Everything in this initiative is the product of our foundation's strong research focus.

Expected Impact

Central to these actions are a focus on political education, political involvement and employment. These are core to addressing not just our selected goals and targets, but really all of them. We will deploy trained, employed and politically active citizenry to make meaningful change in their societies and tackle issues of corruption, employment, development, poverty, food insecurity, gender inequality and environmental sustainability, among other goals. If our expected impact had to be condensed to a simple statement it would be – to take these skills and knowledge to make meaningful change and lead secure lives.

In the United States we have George Washington University for joint event collaboration In Jordan, we are partnered with UNGC Jordan local branch. They will assist us with access to universities, connections with private sector representatives, and event planning. Ishraq Academy: Ishraq Academy was founded as a supporting academy for Ishraq Energy P.S.C "An innovation pioneer and advocate for Green Engineering Solutions" with a cultural focus on continuous knowledge growth and best of breed practices, where through practical and highly needed training they aim to empower and educate the next generation of innovators and technicians, as well as providing employment opportunities. The skills development and training program is targeted mainly at the refugee population. They have been able to design, deliver and provide a top-notch practical and vocational training and a detailed into market approach with several High-Caliber Partners, as well as their ability to design around the year Engineering training and workshop design and directed for fresh graduates and Green Engineering enthusiasts. Iyaf – International Youth Ambassadors Foundation: IYAF is a non-Profit Organization based in Amman, that serves as a national and international platform that empowers youth to have technical skills and professional capacity to become ambassadors of change in their communities and professional careers through various models of innovation, research, civic engagement, entrepreneurship and Model United Nations (Model Conferences).

We are creating educational content on how to be a part of the Jordanian political sphere with the goal of improving the rate of youth political involvement in Jordan. This is based on a recent government decision to open the political sphere – allowing m
