Paragraph 8(a) of United Nations General Assembly Resolution 75/215 requests the Secretary-General of the United Nations to provide recommendations to the General Assembly at its seventy-sixth session in 2021, on the potential development and coordination of work within the United Nations system on a multidimensional vulnerability index (MVI) for small island developing States (SIDS), including on its potential finalization and use.
To implement this mandate, DESA, in collaboration with OHRLLS, is organizing a series of technical webinars among peer institutions, to allow those institutions who have been working on vulnerability indexes or approaches to present on their work and exchange views and perspectives to inform the Secretary-General’s report. Tomorrow is the first in the series as per the attached invitation.
