Background
The National Capacity Building Workshop on Strengthening Entrepreneurship and Expanding Access to Affordable Finance among Micro-, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) for Accelerating Sustainable Development in Ethiopia will take place at the United Nations Conference Center in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 7-10 April 2025.
The workshop will provide special attention to support women and youth MSME entrepreneurs. It will be funded by the Development Account (DA) project “Strengthened MSME Resilience in Africa and Asia”. Through participatory dialogue between policymakers and entrepreneurs, the workshop will support policymakers better understanding challenges and demands of MSME entrepreneurs for accessing affordable finance. It will thus contribute to strengthening capacities of policymakers to facilitate informed policymaking process conducive for the design and delivery of affordable finance solutions for MSMEs. Secondly, the workshop will provide MSME entrepreneurs with hands-on skills to access affordable finance, including utilizing Fintech and online lending platforms to match potential lenders and formulate tailormade financial solutions. Resource persons with expertise on Fintech and online lending platforms will also be invited to participate in the workshop and share their knowledge with participants.
