Background
In its resolution 77/245, the General Assembly decided to convene in 2023, prior to the commencement of its 78th session, a regional preparatory meeting in each of the three regions of small island developing States, as well as an interregional preparatory meeting for all small island developing States, to identify and develop input for the Conference, while maximizing coherence and complementarity with respect to other preparatory work.
The preparatory meeting for the Caribbean region will be held on 8-10 August 2023 in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
