Description
We are a youth led , ECOSOC accredited Not for Profit. We work with SIDS communities in the Caribbean in the Bahamas and Barbados as well as with the Pacific island nation of Kiribati. Our projects are focussed on empowering the youth of these communities to drive climate action, that includes reducing marine pollution as well as regeneration of their coastal mangrove ecosystems. In Kiribati, we are also resolving water insecurity in these indigenous communities by installing state of the art solar water distillation systems. This is a net zero solution that is providing clean drinking water to these communities.
We use ESD ( Education for Sustainable Development) as a transformative tool to provide these communities with the skills, knowledge and behaviours that empowers to take climate action. Our programs use innovative methods of communication , such as Art, Music,Dance and Drama. As most of our audience has never had formal education , these innovative communication tools make it easy for them to grasp concepts of climate change and how they can take actions to mitigate it.
In Kiribati we partner with an Australian technology provider for the installation of the solar water distillation systems. Our volunteers train the local community in the maintenance of these installations. We have local country chapters in all these islands , led and managed by youth from within the community. We provide logistical and capacity support through regular visits as well as through virtual meetings.
