Papalotl Project brings together elders and children to explore and expand their knowledge of science, agriculture, healthy food and the environment through art, music and storytelling.

Expected Impact

Working directly with some of the most vulnerable populations, this project is documenting observations, cogenerating solutions and building skills to attain Millenium Development Goals within a lifespan.

Arrangements for Capacity-Building and Technology Transfer

Documentation and digitization efforts are in development beginning with a short format video production promoting the project which has been shared with local, regional and international audiences. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8dPvwwfVzBQ

Capacity

Capacity building is an integral part of the Papalotl Project infrastructure. Both human and technological capacity is being expanded through educational and collaborative initiatives including webinars, technical assistance and person to person consulting services.

Evaluation

Age adapted pre and post test survey instrument produced evaluation results indicating that 88% of Papalotl Project participants gained new knowedge and skills as a result of attending the program and 81% indicated an interest in continuing to attend should the opportunity become available.
