Statistics skill training for policymakers from Ministry of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment, 13-14 December

There are growing consensuses among policymakers in the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment (MOTIE), The Gambia, on the importance to utilize high-quality data to guide the planning and implementation of policies supporting Micro-, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs). Nonetheless, capacities of utilizing data analysis tools to inform policymaking process need to be strengthened among policymakers. Organized by the Division for Sustainable Development Goals, Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DSDG/DESA) in partnership with MOTIE, this workshop aims to strengthen capacities of policymakers to apply data analysis tools in policymaking and implementation processes and to enhance skills of policymakers in providing actionable insights based on statistical significance to inform future actions. The workshop was participated by MOTIE policymakers at various levels.
