Implementing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Agenda 2030 in Cameroon

Since October we have identified entry points into the methods of implementation and the City of Kumba as our Pilot town where all of the training and mobilisation of the working force has been done. We have develop Capacity of 250 young men and women on the UN Agenda 2030 Goals.The first point is to work with villages and group of villages directly. Identify their needs from a participatory process and prioritizing them for action. We shall be entering into Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with all villages and Councils and other stakeholders in the smooth realization of these Goals and Targets. For example, consider Goal 4, Quality Education. The first intervention will be to identify whether there are schools in the village or within the community, identify whether the schools have facilities to ease learning, teaching and study. There after identify whether there is an Association or a Union governing the administrative aspect of the schools like the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) and what partnerships could be developed with them to enhance their works in the smooth running of the schools. If the they have poor Structure and Libraries without computers, Health services, Counselors, Teachers, Canteen, Laboratories, Transport services an Auditorium, Toilets, Pipe Borne Water, we could consider providing these to them. In a situation where there is no school completely, the project will provide for a school and equip it fully. The project will further examine the relationship between the Parent Teacher and Pupil/Student and find possibilities to consolidate unison for a proper output and better results at the end of the year. Most Pupil/Students come from homes which have no lightening or reading Lamps, reading Tables, Beds to sleep and have to work all through in the morning before going to school trekking long distances. Another among other methodology is to work with the local councils. The local councils are in charge of the development of villages. And partnerships with the local councils will facilitate the various arms of the councils to be attain for example, the Sanitary team ensures that every household or group of houses have a decent Toilet and compounds are kept clean and free from Rodents and Mosquitoes. So far we have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the City Council of Kumba and are willing to bring the 17 UN Goals Agenda 203017 into reality among the city dwellers. Other methods would be through Voluntary involvement of persons and communities in achieving these goals,
FEEDAR & HR is initiating Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) among stakeholders in advancing the 17 Goals at the national level. Engaging with national and international stakeholders on capacity development and technology transfer remains critical in our works and we aim to achieve that in due course and for implanting concrete terms to this effect. Education,Training, Research and vocational education are very much important to achieving this and it will be an opportunity to provide options for this during the project cycle. <br />
The institution GODAN is one example on Global Open Data for Agriculture and Nutrition which is going to enhance capacities of our staffs and transfer technology on DATA. Solawie, Bonn Germany is another institution that would enhance capacity development and technology transfer in achieving results and meeting UN Agenda 2030 in Cameroon.
The project shall be led by the Project Coordinator. There shall be a Secretariat equipped with 17 Delegates (Experts) heading every 17 Goal and the 173 Targets and also 36 Co-coordinator with other stakeholders including Councils, Traditional rulers, municipal authorities, forces of law and order, civil society organizations, schools and colleges and other institutions . The Experts will work as follows; for example on Agriculture and Nutrition, Experts will carry out Rural Extension Agricultural services, Family Farming, other Agricultural innovation, capacity development, markets, e-agriculture, internet and mobile phones use etc, Promote Nutrition and their values, provide Data in Agriculture and Nutrition and made available this Data Open for now and future use especially on sustainable production and consumption patterns. The Experts will be fully supported with equipment and resources to facilitate their works like transportation Vans, Bikes, Preservation equipments etc. Our intention here is to end poverty, hunger and increase food security opportunities for all since more than 75% of the population depend on agriculture for their sustainability. The various 17 UN Goals Delegates with ensure reports from the field are well coordinated to match their Goals and Targets. Annual events will be held twice to report, exchange ideas and monitor progress.
