An immersive visitor experience to enable school children and the public to understand the social and environmental impacts of fast fashion and be inspired to help bring positive change to the industry such as buying less and using for longer, and campaigning for positive industry change. Measure the impacts of immersive learning on eco-anxiety and behaviour

Implementation of the Project/Activity

Our immersive experience will use cutting-edge technology such as augmented reality and projection mapping to take visitors on a magical journey that demonstrates the impact of fast fashion, tells the story of garment workers, and challenges participants to respond with behavioural change. In a creative and playful environment, visitors will imagine new ways for clothes to be made and bought to achieve positive impact on people and planet, so that people can feel great about what they wear. We have already had input into the design concept from local young people through online Youth Design Challenges and national creative designers at a one day workshop, including designers who have worked with Disney, the UN and local visitor attractions, We will put out to tender to this group of talented creatives to design the experience. A debrief session will be practical and capture participants thoughts and ideas using film, design and more. We are undertaking a curriculum matching exercise to demonstrate how this scenario helps deliver aspects of UK curriculum, to boost the educational value and root it in what teachers want. Online resources will support the physical experience.We have funding for the research and the hosting of the pilot project. We are seeking partners to invest in this project and put their name to this cutting-edge immersive education and awareness tool.

Capacity

The content created for this experience will be transferred to other venues and finally into the Global Goals Centre education and visitor experience once it is created. Virtual content will be updated and adapted and disseminated through all partners and stakeholders.
