The Future We Want - Report
Description
Picking up on the slogan of the Rio+20 Summit on sustainable development of The Future We Want, the project provided the framework for indigenous delegates to act as ambassadors for sustainability. The experiences of these tours are the basis for the here presented report. The report focuses on the importance of global partnerships, common challenges we are facing in Europe and the Amazon regions and political recommendations which were developed to face these challenges. This report is the main outcome of a three year project.<br />

Drawing on the experiences gained during the delegation trips, Climate Alliance and its project partners have formulated recommendations to support a sustainable development for all. The main way to achieve the goal of transforming our world is the exchange of experience during delegation tours. <br />

Climate Alliance as a European city network spreads the knowledge and ideas of this project into the network to guarantee the transfer and the capacity-buildung of other local authorities.
Climate Alliance encourages direct partnerships between indigenous communities and European municipalities. We work with local governments throughout Europe, raising awareness about the global challenges affecting indigenous peoples. From project work to study tours and from direct cooperation with indigenous communities to informational campaigns, there are many ways how Climate Alliance is contributing to climate justice.
