Non-governmental organization (NGO)
)
#OceanAction47938
    Description
    Description
    Indonesian Waste Platform (IWP) addresses mitigation of negative impacts on Climate and Environment caused by mismanaged organic and non-organic waste in rural & remote communities and small island fishing communities. Our scope of work includes supporting local government on policy making (waste roadmap), development of local regulations and implementation related to waste management, reduction of open waste burning and pollution of fresh water sources in rural and remote regions. Our programs supports Indonesia’s National Plan of Action. An important part of our work in communities is reduction of the use of non-recyclable packaging by introducing an alternative delivery model refilling. We address open plastic burning and ALDFG. Our work is funded through Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) based on the 2019 decree of the Indonesian Ministry of Environment & Forestry.
