Background
On 26 January, 2021, UNDESA and UNDP launched a publication introducing the Stakeholder Engagement Analytical Framework and User Guide, and facilitated a discussion on ways of strengthening stakeholder engagement in the 2030 Agenda implementation and follow up, including considering the impact of COVID-19.
One of the central aspects of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is the significant role that stakeholders have been assigned in their implementation, follow-up and review.
This analytical framework is a useful tool to enable governments, stakeholders, and development partners to examine and strengthen the quality of their stakeholder engagement practices at different stages of the 2030 Agenda cycle. It is hoped that this framework will help improve stakeholder engagement practices, foster dialogue, and support the sharing of lessons learned and good practices.
