Capacity Building Workshop on Enhancing Business Digitization and E-commerce Skills among Women and Youth-owned Micro-, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) in Cambodia

Mobile internet service is rapidly expanding in Cambodia. It has reached almost every part of the country. The rapid growth of internet has given rise to new business models, and market opportunities for micro-, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). This is especially the case during the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, in which adapting to e-commerce models can help MSME business stay afloat amid reduced customer foot traffic due to lockdown and quarantine measures. Jointly organized by the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation (MISTI), the Division for Sustainable Development Goals, Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DSDG/DESA) and the Cambodia Women Entrepreneurs Association (CWEA), this training workshop is organized in this background. It aims to equip women and youth MSME entrepreneurs with business digitization and e-commerce skills. It will strengthen capacities of women and youth entrepreneurs in diversifying business models, markets and skills, and enhancing their business resilience that will provide and protect jobs and livelihood resources critical for alleviating poverty, reducing inequalities and expediting progress towards SDGs in Cambodia. The workshop will receive seventy youth and women MSME entrepreneurs throughout the country. It will take place in Phnom Penh from 17 to 18 November.
