Sustainable Real Estate
Description
As part of the program, approximately 60 buildings with the highest energy consumption (approximately 42% of overall consumption) were connected online to the Siemens Advantage Operation Center (AOC). The AOC can monitor the energy consumption of the buildings online and in detail, around the clock. If the measurements deviate from defined targets, the AOC can make immediate corrections. The other 900 buildings will be reviewed annually on the basis of energy consumption data to determine their energy efficiency and are included in the energy controlling system. As part of the operational optimization process, energy engineers will inspect each building and make systematic improvements.
This partnership is coordinated by Credit Suisse's Development & Construction team in collaboration with Siemens Switzerland. The impact evaluation will be measured by independent third party engineers Amstein+Walthert.
As a result, a CO2 reduction of 4 percent during 2010 and 2014 has been achieved. The evaluation and the real estate benchmarking (GRESB) in parallel indicate strong increase in the performance of energy and resource efficiency of the real estate portfolio which is above market average. The overall real estate sustainability performance reveals a competitive performance with achieving 8 Green Star Awards from the GRESB environment.
