    Description
    Intro

The Maria Clara House is located Community of Terreirão, which has 3,200 homes, approximate population of 10,000 adults and 4,000 children, a city parallel to Rio de Janeiro. Is a civil and philanthropic organization of unlimited duration, practices charity as a social duty and principle of Christian morality, as well as the full exercise of solidarity and citizenship, without discrimination of ethnicity, gender, sexual or religious orientation. The Project has a structure to serve 100 children from 05-12 years old. It aims, since an early age, to build new concepts of healthy coexistence, socialization, and value for solidarity.

    Objective of the practice

Among the various needs in the region, there is a need for those responsible to seek family support, with the effect of leaving their children at home without proper care and guidance, often exposing children and adolescents to situations of vulnerability and social risks such as child labor, drug use, sexual exploitation and many other forms of violation of rights. The Project aims to contribute to these families in facing the overcoming of the vulnerabilities and social risks to which they are exposed and in guaranteeing their rights. The multidisciplinary team of the "Oficina da Criança Project", which has been active since 1997, assists children in the school counter-shift system with a minimum of 3 hours in each shift, in a continuous, permanent and planned manner, in accordance with the pertinent legislation. It seeks to strengthen ties, social promotion, autonomy and the empowerment of these families to access their rights. It offers activities educational partners that value their potential, stimulate family and community living. It also offers daily meals, aimed at eliminating malnutrition and its serious consequences in the psychomotor aspects of children.

    Implementation of the Project/Activity

The "Children's Workshop Project" contributes to the moral, material and social promotion and strengthening of family ties. In its lexical sense, "workshop" is the "place where great transformations take place", nothing could better express the philosophy of the Children's Workshop. In it, we do not see the repetition of the school, but a space of coexistence, transformation and learning, where the subjects will have the opportunity to build collectively. It is to be with the child, transmuting the difficulties that she experiences in the world, in experiences that stimulate the creative potential that she brings within herself, waving promising possibilities to her, through playful, artistic and sports activities, according to the municipal policy of actions of support education in open means. In the Workshops the dimensions of the human being are worked out: feeling, thinking, creating, acting, intuition, reason, gesture, speaking and pleasure. Offers a playful and welcoming space for children, which contributes to the development of human values, protagonism and creativity; contribute to the integral development and socialization of the children, with actions that value the intergroup coexistence, with the family and the community; promote healthy habits for children (hygiene, health and food); provide cultural and leisure activities, stimulate the exchange of experiences and moments of expression; offer activities that contribute to the insertion, reinsertion and permanence in the educational system.
Indicators: Monitoring the daily frequency of children; weekly monitoring through observations and records of the activities carried out; monitoring of the behavior and evolution of each user reported in the medical records. Where individual case studies are required. Evaluation: The technical team of attendance, both the evaluation of the performance, as well as the satisfaction with the functions performed. From the satisfaction of parents and meetings to gauge their views on the performance and progress of the child. From the satisfaction of the children, seeking their opinions and participation in the decision-making process.

    Results/Outputs/Impacts
The "Children's Workshop Project" of Casa de Maria Clara has been working since 1997, during these 22 years of activity it has served approximately 2,000 (two thousand) children from 5 to 12 years old. Because elementary schools work only part-time and parents need to work full-time, these children spend much of the day at home without proper care and guidance, exposing themselves to situations of vulnerability and social, such as child labor, drug use, sexual exploitation and various other forms of violation of rights. The "Children's Workshop Project" offers a playful and welcoming space for children, which contributes to the development of human values, protagonism and creativity. I also built a "Quality of Life Project" with the family of beneficiaries, through interaction with frequent visits of the project's technical team, jointly and continuously, aiming at improving the quality of life and social promotion of it. The community is inserted in the lagoon complex in the neighborhood, directly interfering with the local ecosystem. As a Philanthropic Institution, non-profit and without any Government financial support, despite having all the required Certifications at all administrative levels, the greatest current challenge and sustainability of the project, as it has only two fixed donors. It also has resources from personal donations, but these due to the great economic crisis that the country and mainly the State of Rio de Janeiro experience, had a significant reduction. Seeking greater stability and sustainability for the "Children's Workshop Project", the Board of Directors of "Casa de Maria Clara" has been seeking to optimize Management and has sought partnerships with inidomous entities to improve the Project. Goals and Expected Results: Offer activities that contribute to the insertion, reinsertion and permanence in the educational system. The work method will be through group activities, with videos, reading, audios and workshops, aiming at interpersonal contacts, exchange of knowledge resulting from different life experiences, socialization, mutual assistance, knowledge and the exercise of citizenship. With regard to family care, the multidisciplinary team will offer individual care, seeking to receive it, guide it and refer it to the service network, according to the demands presented, seeking the social promotion and guarantee of family rights. There will also be a weekly orientation and social support group for those responsible, through workshops, lectures, exchanges of experiences among their participants, and reflection, in order to contribute to the strengthening of family and community ties, to expand cultural exchanges and of living, developing a sense of belonging and identity, autonomy, exercising citizenship, encouraging social participation, as well as preventing situations of vulnerability and social risk.
    Enabling factors and constraints
The philosophy of the "Workshop of the Child" is innovative, we do not see the repetition of the school, but a space of coexistence, transformation and learning, where the subjects will have the opportunity to build collectively. It is to be with the child, transmuting the difficulties that she experiences in the world, in experiences that stimulate the creative potential that she brings within herself, waving promising possibilities to her, through playful, artistic and sports activities, according to the municipal policy of actions of social and educational support in open means. It also provides cultural and leisure activities that stimulate the exchange of experiences and moments of expression; offering activities that contribute to the insertion, reinsertion and permanence in the educational system. Also offers healthy and balanced food, which in many cases children can not find in their homes, helping to eliminate malnutrition and its serious consequences on the psychomotor aspects of children and adolescents. With this, the integration and participation of children and their families is facilitated, since it consists of a pleasurable activity. Regarding the restrictions to be overcome, we can cite a greater need for more specialized professionals, greater training of current employees and achieve economic and financial stability aimed at the sustainability of the Project.

In the annex, 1 pantry, 1 deposit, 3 bathrooms and 1 small play area. The budget for 2018 was R$ 241,849.93 (two hundred and forty-one thousand Reais and ninety-three cents).
