Description
Once a year, we organise a three-day event to talk about modern slavery, circular economy and sustainability with academics, practitioners and other stakeholders. Each day we host a series of interviews and a live round table with experts on the topics. We also host upcyling workshops and we organise a fundraiser to support Oxfam. All activities are free and open to everyone. Given the restrictions, the event is running online. All the content is available on our website and social media channels (YouTube and Instagram).\\\\r\\\\nWe also run a competition, the Sustainable Fund, to suppor two initiatives (one led by students and another led by a local business) that promote sustainability in their community or that seek to engage with more sustainable practices.
We have a website and a YouTube channel to ensure free access to the content that is generated during the event. We also collaborate with academics, small businesses/start-ups and other stakeholders to facilitate networking among them.
Although the event is funded by N8 Fusion Fund (Economic and Social Research Council - UK), we organise and plan the event and all the activities independently. We are two PhD students and we share responsibilities.
