    Description
    Intro

Much remains unknown about how to define, measure and develop reading fluency. The purpose of this study was to investigate weather assisted repeated reading is an effective way for children second language learners of English to develop expressive reading and fluency rates. In this study students make a digital book, read their texts and their level of fluency is rated. Creative thinking is an invaluable but underexplored concept for multilingual young writers. Creative thinking is defined from a development perspective and the concept is situated in a pedagogy that engages students in a process of writing, reading and discovery across multiple modes of learning and communication as methodology. The result and conclusion were Digital Books which save paper and broaden students horizons if they share on social media and get feedback of others. Implementation of the Project/Activity

Students worked in groups. Everything was planned to have a project work each group would work on. #makerfair is very important. They have to choose, do something, present to the class and to the world. Rubrics were filled during the process and their work was evaluated. There was no financial support. We used free #edtech tools to work on it. Here is a video from last year project works. https://youtu.be/MVqNKZig1NM

    Results/Outputs/Impacts

I managed to work not only with the students but also with their families. Everyone helped, knitted bags to replace plastic gave wonderful ideas like bamboos glasses and helped them do it. So it was fantastic to watch the involvement of the community too. Now the use the techniques they learned daily. Saving water when it’s raining, use less water to brush their teeth, use less water in showers and so on.

    Enabling factors and constraints

Time was a constraint and COVID-19. Nevertheless we are still working online. No costs we just adapted and used free #edtech tools.

    Sustainability and replicability

Our practice is already being replicated in India, USA and Portugal were I present our work in conferences. People send me digital books of their work too. Save paper and I feel honored to be useful showing our work as an example to better practices not only in my country but in the world. Confinement makes people curious and they expect to learn in a practical way. People need assistance.

    COVID-19 Impact

COVID-19 impacted our work. Although I preferred to have the students in class working face to face, now we work online. We adapted. They also did project works on COVID-19 during the first term. Here is the video. https://youtu.be/qp-gNzAw3K0
