Description
HILOS blends 3D printing and computational design to reinvent the world's most wasteful supply chains, so our industry can produce locally only after a customer orders and recycle at end of life.
Our mission is to eliminate overproduction and waste in fashion retail with an on-demand, circular future for products.
Shoemaking constructions leverage our own 3D printing patents to pioneer on-demand, localized manufacturing at an industrial scale. Computational tooling and proprietary generative algorithms replace physical molds and tooling to rapidly create new product lines at the speed of software.
We collaborate with brands big and small to forward our mission of changing the way the world produces. Brands apply their own distinct branding and design language over our technology, while our in-house design and development team helps train them on our new constructions.
Within eighteen months of its founding, HILOS launched the first commercially scalable 3D-printed heel into market, and within two years had begun launching on-demand lines for other brands. A recent Yale case study found that HILOS’ technology reduces carbon by half and water usage by 99%. The start-up is now working on collaborations with some of the fastest growing and most exclusive fashion labels in market, the first of which will launch in Spring ‘23. HILOS has gone on to win the Glossy award for Best Breakthrough Startup, the Global Footwear Awards, and Best in Show at SXSW 2022.
