Description
Description
Conservatively, before the law, Aruba consumed an estimated 30 million single-use plastic bags yearly or just over 575,000 per week and 114 per minute. On June 28, 2016 the law proposal to ban single-use plastic bags was unanimously passed in Parliament of Aruba. The law came into effect on January 1, 2017.

At the end of 2018 / beginning of 2019, a scientific evaluation of the law was conducted (EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: http://anyflip.com/hdqm/jgxq/). The study was conducted by creator and co-developer of Aruba's Plastic Bag Ban, and creator of Impact Blue Foundation, Juliet Carvalhal.
