GoTeach
Achievement at a glance
Achievement at a glance (max 100 words)In 2017, a database was developed and implemented for GoTeach. The database collects the plans for each individual activity and then the reports on every individual activity along with feedback evaluations from both young people and volunteers. This contributes to the deliverable of developing a scalable and adaptable partnership for further developing and scaling the partnership. The database is developed for GoTeach but with the goal of being used for other initiatives in partnership with other corporates within the YouthCan! project. The YouthCan! project is following in the footsteps of GoTeach due to its easy-to-replicate model and successful expansion.
Challenges faced in implementation
Launching the database and making sure that relevant stakeholders in all the countries are able to use it. This involved conducting trainings for all the users and developing a guide and instructions for proper use of the database. This was an important step because only with proper use of the database are we able to track our progress in reaching as many young people as possible creating a strong impact.Next Steps
The goal for 2018 is that the GoTeach partnership expands to approximately 14 new countries across the globe in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East, making a total of 40 official GoTeach countries. The planned expansion will happen largely in Latin America, but also in n the MENA and Asian regions. Additionally, the programme is planned to start in West and Central Africa, an entirely new region for the partnership.Beneficiaries
Main beneficiaries of the programme are young people coming disadvantaged backgrounds from SOS programmes (Family Based Care and Family Strengthening Prpgramme) and community children; however, volunteers working for DHL also benefit from the programme.
