2025 SDG Learning, Training and Practice
The SDG Learning, Training and Practice (or SDGs in Practice for short) is a series of capacity-building and knowledge-learning training sessions focused on essential topics related to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, held annually as a Special Event in the margins of the United Nations High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF). The training sessions are facilitated by the New York Office of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and the Division for Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA). The SDGs in Practice aims to:- Facilitate the acquisition by a wide range of practitioners of knowledge and skills needed for the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- Foster networking opportunities, encouraging the sharing of experiences and collaboration among peers.
- Provide insights into practical actions, tools, and innovative solutions for SDG implementation.
Topics
The 2025 HLPF took place from 14 to 23 July 2025, under the auspices of ECOSOC, under the theme of “Advancing sustainable, inclusive, science- and evidence-based solutions for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals for leaving no one behind”. The 2025 HLPF conducted in-depth reviews of SDG 3 (Health and well-being), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 8 (Economic Growth and Decent Work), SDG 14 (Life Below Water), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). The SDGs in Practice session topics focused on key priorities that align with and complement the HLPF theme, the SDGs under review and other emerging priorities.Overview
