The
delegation of the Russian Federation would support the shorter version of the
preamble. We would like to delete reference to "We, the Heads of State and
Government and High Representatives" at the beginning of the sentence.
In
para 20 we support reference to internationally recognized human rights.
In
para 25 we are strongly in favour of keeping the proposition of the co-chairs
mentioning the Rome Declaration on Nutrition and the Framework for
Action . However given the
proposition of the Maldives of behalf of AOSIS (We are committed to ending
poverty in all its forms and dimensions, including by eradicating extreme
poverty by 2030. All people must enjoy a basic standard of living, including
through social protection systems. We are also determined to end hunger and to
achieve food security as a matter of priority and to end all forms of
malnutrition, welcoming the Rome Declaration on Nutrition and the
Framework for Action and in this regard reaffirm the important
role and inclusive nature of this Committee on World Food Security. We will
devote resources to developing rural areas and sustainable agriculture and
sustainable fisheries, and supporting smallholder farmers, especially
women farmers, herders and fishers, to all developing countries, particularly
in least developed countries) we are ready to accept the proposition of the
Maldives, but in this case we insist on mentioning the Rome Declaration on
Nutrition and the Framework for Action in a separate sentence of para 25.
In pursuit of compromise we would accept mentioning voluntary nature of the
Rome Declaration on Nutrition and the Framework for Action.
We
also support paras 30 and 31.
