This session offers an important opportunity to address the
global vulnerabilities and reiterate the need for greater
international cooperation to eradicate poverty, promotion of
sustainable development and the achievement of the millennium
development goals (MDGs).
Mozambique attaches great importance to the consideration of
the thematic issues in CSD?s agenda in the context of the
three pillars of sustainable development, which are mutually
reinforcing, inter-related and that must be considered in an
integrated manner.
We support the statements of the group G77+ China and LDC.
We emphasize the importance of policy coherence and
integration across the CSD themes at all levels, as well as the
need for financial resources, technology transfer and capacity
building to cope with gap between policy and implementation.
Mozambique attaches great importance to the principles of
National ownership and Government leadership in the efforts
for poverty eradication, promotion of sustainable development
and achievement of MDGs.
We have very strong political will and leadership to play our
role for sustainable development. But we would like to see a
more robust support, technological assistance and technology
transfer to undertake our goals.
