Thank you for giving me the floor.
We align ourselves with the statement of the G77 and China and that of the Arab
Group on the issue of the MOI’s and revised targets.
Concerning the X’s and Y’s, we support substituting them as suggested by the G77
and China.
In addition, we strongly support the revision to target 1.5 addressing the issue of
assistance to those affected by complex humanitarian emergencies. We believe that
this revision strengthens the target and contributes to our goal at leaving no one
behind. We are aware that some delegations have concerns with regard to the use
of the word “complex”. Hence, and for the sake of simplicity and consensus, we
can be flexible with removing the word “complex” and retaining the expression
“humanitarian emergencies” in the revised target.
