Ethiopia
Ethiopia’s contribution to the outcome document of the Intergovernmental Negotiations on the Post-2015 Agenda
27-31 July2015, New York,
Co-facilitators,
Ethiopia aligns itself with the statement delivered by LDCS, LLDCS and Africa. In our national capacity we would like to highlight the following aspects:
We consider the final draft circulated on 26th of July a good basis to reach a final agreed document by the end of this week, to be adopted by Head of States and Governments in September.
As we have expressed on our intervention of July 27/2015, we support most of proposal by delegation of Qatar on behalf of Arab group to strengthen the language on water .However in paragraph 8 we prefer sustainable management of water in general rather than the specific reference to water supply.
Similarly in paragraph 10, we do not support the addition of all water sources which we believe that it is not the proper place to mention it in this paragraph.
Co-facilitators,
We support your approach to accept so far that of small and strategic changes to the draft contribute to retaining the delicate balance as compared to proposals that pose controversy at this stage of the process.
Thank you.
