    Diamond Fabrics Limited (DFL) is a leading vertically integrated organization in the Pakistan textile industry that aims to improve well-being, transform lives, and build a diverse, empowered, and inclusive workforce while using resources ethically. DFL pledges to reduce specific carbon emissions, 25% by the year 2025. Our collective commitments are to combat climate change and one example which is developed exclusively by DFL is the “Drop of water” concept which reduces water footprint by almost 90%, and offsets unavoidable carbon emissions, providing a solution for our industry to meet carbon reduction targets. DFL aims to provide an effective framework for realizing DFL commitment to create a sustainable society and business by protecting and where possible enhancing sustainability impact through the alignment with SDGs. DFL aims to deliver sustainable economic development as part of a transition to a low carbon future. Additionally, DFL believes gender equality is a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable world.

    Implementation of the Project/Activity

    Our company has set a 5-year target from (baseline year 2019-20) to be aligned with SDGs, and our Management Policies and Targets supports specific SDGs against which our valuable contribution and progress of our sustainability initiatives can be measured and reported. Diamond have set goals on net-zero emissions by 2050, so to meet set targets, we prioritize the continuous reduction of carbon emissions through efficient production processes, investing in advanced new technologies and renewable energy sources. We have set our reduction targets and committed to becoming carbon neutral by achieving net zero emissions by upscaling our teams with sustainable educational workshops and strategically employing a balanced gender work force. 

    Arrangements for Capacity-Building and Technology Transfer

    Diamond Fabrics is committed to excellence in training and the development of its staff by upskilling them with training programs to be in line with our company goals and targets. We do this by running regular workshops & seminars in person and virtual sessions covering a broad range of subjects. We plan our programs and educational material by setting objectives and targets with our managing directors, key stakeholders and partners where we all agree on actions and time frames for specific projects. Lastly, we undertake and evaluate through various data analysis streams which are made each year to measure achievements, failures and progress. Our team will execute its training & development programs by producing digital knowledge sharing, digital highlights, technical workshops along with meetings to impart knowledge, develop skills and bring about a change in attitude across the industry. 

    Coordination mechanisms

    We are using a platform to achieve the agenda of sustainable development as a part of regional program “Sustainability through Innovation” which includes the baseline assessment and action plan focused on innovative processes and connected technological setup. This program provides a solution from mid to long term net zero CO2 emission / neutral carbon footprint in combination with a digitalized production. 

    Evaluation

    Diamond Denim has set a 5-year target plan from (baseline year 2019-20) which is aligned with SDGs and Our Management Policies and Targets which supports specific SDGs.  These are as follows:

    1. Water-Reduction of water (Liter/KG of Fabric) by 15% by the year 2025
    2. Waste water achieve ZDHC Compliance
    3. Energy-Reduction of 10% Energy (KWh)/Kg of Fabric by the year 2025
    4. Green House Gas -Reduction of 20% (GHG) emissions (Kg CO2 /Kg of Fabric) by the year 2030
    5. Sustainability certifications.
    6. Renewable Energy-Installation of y (4.2 MW) Solar system by the year 2024
    7. Expand representation of women across all levels of our workforce to 20% by the year 2026

    The Higg FEM “Facility Environmental module” platform together with our internal reports verified by third party experts will be used to provide a central instrument for evaluation.
