Description
El l Programa Nacional de Alimentación Escolar forma parte de la estrategia integral del Gobierno de Honduras liderado por nuestra Presidenta Iris Xiomara Castro Sarmiento, para impulsar la soberanía alimentaria y alcanzar las zonas más pobres de nuestro país, reducir la pobreza al evitar la deserción escolar, contribuir a la sana nutrición en la infancia y combatir la desigualdad económica y social. Los cuatro objetivos principales son: -Mejorar la participación escolar reduciendo la deserción e incentivando el aumento de la matricula. -Reducir los índices de malnutrición infantil en los niños y niñas en edad escolar. -Mejorar el rendimiento académico de los educandos. -Dinamizar la economía local.
La metodolgía de implementación cuenta con 5 componentes princiales: COMPONENTE 1: Alimentación equilibrada y de Calidad COMPONENTE 2.Articulación de los servicios básicos de salud y nutrición en Centros Educativos Saludables (CES) y otros. COMPONENTE 3: Fomento de la Actividad Física. COMPONENTE 4:Ambientes Educativos Resilientes y Sostenibles. COMPONENTE 5: Educación Alimentaria Nutricional (EAN) a la comunidad educativa (Docentes en primera instancia con efecto multiplicador).
El programa cuenta con una estrategia de fortalecimiento de capacidades con FAO, PMA y Catholic Relief Services que contempla tres elementos fundamentales: el tema de monitoreo, alimentaciones y dietas y involcuramiento de niñas y niños. Se capacitan a los comités locales, maestros, padres y madres de familias, alumnos/as, productores/as locales y así como a funcionarios gubernamentales involucrados.
El programa contiene un mecanimo de coordinación interinstiucional y cuenta con elementos de coordinación entre el nivel central del gobierno con autoridades y otros actores locales. El mismo opera través de la Secretaría de Educación, coordinaciones departamentales, comités comunitarios y sistemas de monitoreo de SEDESOL y PMA.
Se hacen evaluaciones semestrales alineadas a los monitoreos trimestrales enviados por el PMA y una reunión anual con el Comité Senior del Programa Nacional, que incluyen los delegados de las insituciones involucradas al mas alto nivel.
