Modernized reform mechanism for Police and law enforcement institutions to strengthen the relationship with societies
Description
This initiative will be based on developing a set of research papers to define the related literature review in management science; technology innovation; and sustainable development to develop a best practice approach for developing a modernized reform strategy for Police & law enforcement institution to match the sustainable development goals 16 and 17.In addition to develop a set of workshops and conferences with related stakeholders in Egypt and outside, to analyse current reform strategies, and to propose recommendations for how to strengthen the relationship between the police & Law enforcement institutions and the society for sustainable development in order to prevent violence and combat terrorism and crimeSince most of research and studies in role of police and law enforcement institutions focused on the side of criminology; law; policing operations and human rights. And very few focused on the modern management science prospective or role of these institutions in sustainable development. In addition these studies doesn’t take into account the challenges that developing countries faces in modernizing its police and law enforcement institutions. Finally the initiative will try to develop a recommendation for modernized reform strategy for Police & law enforcement institution to be more effective, accountable and transparent.
The initiative will assure capacity building and technology transfer through publications of research papers, participation of related workshops and conferences; and policy briefs on SDGs created and distributed to Ministry of Interior; Police Academy research center; National Management Institute; press and other stakeholders.
National System Senior Advisor will establish timeline and work plan to negotiate with different partners. An advisory board will be developed from potential partners: National Management Institute; Police Academy research center; Public Policy & administration department at the American university in Cairo; and center of Technology for government in New York. National System will coordinate between different stakeholders and will be responsible for project management.
