Description

Mia Engiadina is convinced that digitalisation is the key driver for economic prosperity of remote regions, so it has created a partnership that will aim to establish the basis for this digital-driven economic growth in the remotest areas of Switzerland.

Expected Impact

Specifically, Mia Engiadina will deploy FTTH (fibre to the home - the delivery of a communications signal over optical fibre from the operator's switching equipment all the way to a home or business, thereby replacing existing copper infrastructure such as telephone wires and coaxial cable) within the next 15 years in order to give the access to the worldwide data network to the remotest areas of Switzerland.

Capacity

The Mountain Hub approach (joint workplaces) brings IT experts together with business people from the region. In addition, potential customers are part of the team as well and make sure that the proposed innovations are addressing the right needs. Several presentations and discussions of the interim results to a broad audience helped to get instant feedback that allowed to adapt the concept continuously.
