    Commitment 2: The government of Bangladesh announces its National Plan of Action for eliminate Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated (IUU) fishing. Recently the government has enacted National Plan of Action for IUU fishing. Law enforcing agencies of Bangladesh like Navy, Coast Guard have taken strong measures against unlawful fishing and strengthen patrolling activities to stop infiltration by other countries in our exclusive economic zone. Apparently, there is no record of IUU (illegal, unreported and unregulated) fishing by Bangladeshi fishermen. Also, the Government has decided to bring all fishing vessel under surveillance in order to eliminate IUU fishing. The Department of fisheries of the Ministry of livestock & Fisheries already taken up a project to set up Automatic Identification System (AIS) in thousands of boats, among those some are satellite based. A project has been taken by the Department of Shipping titled “Establishment of Global Maritime Distress and safety system and Integrated Maritime Navigation Systems” is in progress to provide radio communication, navigational aids, tracking of ships, search and rescue facilities etc. in Bangladesh sea waters and beyond.
