    Description

    In accordance with local challenges, capacities and resources available, Sarthak Educational Trust has been working through its projects to contribute to the Global Sustainable Development Goals. Through our programs across India, we are trying to target the following goals: Goal No. 3 - Ensure Healthy Lives and promote well-being for all at all ages Goal No. 4 - Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education for all Goal No. 8 - Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all Goal No. 10 - Reduce Inequalities.

    Implementation of the Project/Activity

    Sarthak teams ensure regular and timely implementation of all goals and targets set - daily, monthly. quarterly and yearly through a well define structures implementation plan shared with each staff member, specifying their detailed timelines and targets. A. At the Centre/Ground level - 1. Mobilizers and Helpdesks - Have clearly outline targets and timelines to identify/mobilize and register PwD candidates for trainings and placements. 2. Trainers - Separate batches for Locomotor Disabled, Visually Challenged and Speech & Hearing Impaired are run by different Trainers at each Centre to impart free of cost 3-months training through certified and standardized training modules for different job roles. 3. Mangers & Employment Team - Generates job openings through various Corporate Partners new and old in various Sectors like IT/BPO, Retail, Hospitality, E-commerce, Manufacturing and many others. 4. Early intervention Centres - Dedicated Physiotherapists, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Speech therapists and others ensure to identify, intervene and prevent disabilities in Children in the age group 0-6 years through detailed rehabilitation therapies and other measures. B. Digital support - Dedicated team promotes and maintains our Digital platforms - CapSarathi and RozgarSarathi for creating more outreach and support to PwDs on daily basis. C. The Head Office Team which includes Vertical Heads and Program Leaders ensure complete monitoring and evaluation of all activities with regu;ar review meetings with different teams. D. Dedicated HR, Admin and Finance Teams ensure all processes and policies are implemented in a very transparent and structured manner by all employees. E. Volunteers - From time to time various volunteers are engaged to enhance the implementation of different programs at various levels.

    Arrangements for Capacity-Building and Technology Transfer

    Other than the early intervention, skilling and employment trainings Sarthak is engaged in Capacity Building of various stakeholder - A. Civil Society organizations - through IDEA group - Formed a consortium of 600+ Civil Society Organization from across India, working in the disability sector under India Disability Empowerment Alliance (IDEA). Various interventions are taken up with them on regular basis to provide necessary support and sharing knowledge with them including - 1. Hosting online capacity building sessions with Member NGO’s, covering various topics like Importance of documentation, obtaining mandatory certifications (12A, 80G; FCRA, etc.), fundraising, making proposals, websites, entrepreneurship options, etc. 2. Organizing bi-weekly session – ‘Aap Ki Aawaz’, to understand their challenges and provide immediate solutions to them. 3. Linking product making NGO’s with online marketing portals like GeM and Atypical Advantage, to increase their sales. 4. Providing financial support to rural NGO’s during Covid-19 pandemic. 5. Provided ration kits and medical kits (masks, sanitizers, etc.), during lockdowns. 6. Providing online trainings free of cost and create employment opportunities for PwDs associated with Member NGO’s through Sarthak Trainers and Employment team, for those who need jobs. B. Corporates - Through sensitization workshops, Rond tables, Conferences and one to one meetings with Heads and HR Team for hiring, creation of accessible work environment and hiring of People with Disabilities on sustainable basis. C. Government Officials - Through Meetings, workshops, conferences on chhalenges and suggestions to create more inclusive policies and implemetation at grassroot levels. D. PwDs and Parents - Through personal meetings, inviting them to workshops/conferences, digital platforms of Sarthak engaging them in various celebrations like World Disability Day, Autism day, etc. C. Society - Through sharing success stories on social media platforms, publishing news articles on various apsects of disabilities.

    Coordination mechanisms

    Since last 14 years, Sarthak is committedly working for the people with disabilities, their families and communities to create sustainable change and make an inclusive India with equal dignity & respect for People with Disabilities. Today we can say that Sarthak is a young yet successful NGO working towards mainstreaming Persons with disability. Having an inclusive workforce , Sarthak team understands what it takes to ensure that no one is left behind. Programs and services have been designed to ensure that a large group of youth with disabilities is able to access quality skill education and training opportunities. Sarthak has a well structured organizational setup to ensure timely and regular implementation of all activities. 1. The Advisory Board Members having vast experience in various fields meet regularly to review the progress and achievements of the targets set and timelines are met at quarterly intervals every year. 2. The Leadership Team which includes all verticals of Sarthak - Operations, Programs, Finance & Adminstration, Advocacy, Early Intervention and NAAI have well defines roles and responsibilities and overall monitoring of all activitties is doen under their Supervision. 3. Vertical Heads in each program including - Mobilizers, Help Desks, Training, Employment, Early intervention ensure day to day achievenements of daily/weekly/monthly targets set to engage and empower people with disabilities. 4. Regional Managers in all 4 zones (East, West, North and South), monitor and evaluate daily activities of all 25 Centres of Sarthak present across different States of India 5. At the State level each Centre has specific staff including Mobilizers, Helpdesks, Trainers, Managers who engage with Persons with Disabilities to ensure their regular onboarding, trainings, employment and other support/handholding needed by them on daily basis. They provide regular support through both physical and online modes as per the requirements of the PwDs. 6. Digital platforms - With the onset of Covid-19 pandemic, Sarthak launched free of cost different online support mechanisms to provide online access to disability related information - (a) CapSarathi App - easy to use free app available on both Google and Apple Playstores, to access all information related to disability in India at local, state and national level, with feedback and support mechanisms inbuilt for any queries. (b) RozgarSarathi portal - Free to use job portal to access all real-time job openings available in both Government and Private sectors.
