'Darfur Dreams' - Sport for Peace and Development
Description
Within the framework of its Save the Dream Initiative, the International Center for Sport Security (ICSS) initiated in June 2018 training workshops and community activities in the rural areas of Darfur for more than 50 young IDPs (both women and men) on 'Sport for Peace and Development' and 'Skills to act as Agents of Change', that featured a series of interactive activities designed to strengthen their capabilities in the fields of capacity building, community engagement and social inclusion, including gender equality and empowerment of girls through sport.
'Darfur Dreams' - Sport for Peace and Development Initiative operated within the framework of the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur (DDPD), and utilised sport to pursue the following objectives:

- Offer opportunities to young generations of more inclusive growth, also in view of putting an end to the narratives of extremism.
- Restore normality in the life of IDPs, facilitate integration and promote peace.
- Promote a culture to modernize society and procedures.
- Improve facilities and promote sport and educational activities inside camps.
- Create a youth mobility scheme in Darfur region through sport.
