Description
Cada 4 meses, por medio de las Conferencias EmpowerU, la Universidad del Istmo genera espacios que potencian las oportunidades de su comunidad (estudiantes, graduados, docentes y administrativos), entidades aliadas, población de universidades locales e internacionales y comunidad en general en el ámbito de la empleabilidad y el emprendimiento. Estas conferencias gratuitas se estructuran de manera ordenada con una serie de temas que llevan un hilo conductor. Es así, que, a través de estos espacios se logra convocar de forma voluntaria a destacados profesionales de la empleabilidad y el emprendimiento del país y de otras latitudes. Esta iniciativa ha logrado el apoyo de 40 conferencistas provenientes de 6 países y ha impactado a más dos mil quinientas personas, de las cuales un tercio eran desempleados y una décima parte eran emprendedores. A través de estos espacios de formación, se proveen herramientas que permiten enfrentar los retos del actual mercado laboral y generar crecimiento económico sostenido, inclusivo y sostenible, al velar por el crecimiento personal y el desarrollo profesional de todos como sociedad. Si bien cada Ciclo de Conferencias EmpowerU se enfoca en temáticas como Habilidades Blandas, Empleabilidad y Emprendimiento, permite una interrelación de los temas entre cada versión para mantener una constante actualización de las oportunidades que se generan en cuanto a los nuevos desafíos del mercado laboral, por lo que es un programa que permite la sostenibilidad y brindar este apoyo de forma permanente y constante a la población, como parte de la responsabilidad social que como institución educativa tenemos, generando además espacios de cooperación con valiosos profesionales del país y la región. Esta iniciativa está relacionada el logro del ODS 8 - Trabajo Decente y Crecimiento Económico, al contribuir al logro de varias de sus metas, como la meta 8.3, 8.5 y 8.6.
La implementación de cada conferencia requiere la identificación de los temas que más han solicitado los participantes de conferencias anteriores.
La alianzas que genera la Universidad del Istmo con diversas entidades permiten asegurar una base de profesionales que aportan y agregan valor a esta iniciativa. De igual forma los profesionales independientes que deciden aportar su talento de forma voluntaria para ayudar a generar oportunidades en el marco de esta iniciativa.
Cada versión de EmpowerU requiere una organización de 1 mes previo a la semana donde se realizan las conferencias, lo cual involucra identificar los temas solicitados en las evaluaciones de conferencias previas, lo que permite entonces gestionar la invitación de los expertos que abordarán estas temáticas. De igual forma se hace la divulgación para que los interesados se registren. Esto conlleva la organización de los temas logísticos y tecnológicos para el desarrollo de cada sesión. Al finalizar cada conferencia se comparte una evaluación para entender el impacto de cada conferencia, con relación al contenido, el conferencista, el espacio y los medios utilizados.
El finalizar cada conferencia se comparte una encuesta la cual permite conocer el impacto del conferencista, el tema, los contenidos, los recursos y otros elementos. De igual forma se generan espacios para que se compartan temas que se pueden abordar en siguientes conferencias.
Profesionales de entidades aliadas o independientes que aportan su conocimiento y experiencia para agregar valor en esta iniciativa.
