Currently working on agreeing the following Memorandum of Understanding for improving water quality and environmental management in the River Nile and Niger River Basin. These MOUs are currently being negotiated with the following organisations: (1) Nile Basin Capacity Building Network based in Cairo Egypt for capacity building training and manuals. (2) African Supreme Audit Institution currently based in Cameroon for environmental audit follow-up programmes for River Nile and Niger River Basin. (3) River Nile Initiative Based in Uganda for online capacity building to encourage governments to change policies on the issue. (4) Global Development Partners Programme for training manuals.Challenges faced in implementation

Once MOUs are agreed the next step is to start the process of the following: (1) To raise awareness about the issue of marine plastic pollution. (2) To provide capacity building and training manuals, workshops and support to industry practitioners. (3) To conduct research and studies and encourage national governments to change policies on water pollution. (4) To encourage and promote local, regional and national changes to waste management.Beneficiaries
