International Waste Platform is working with NOAA and Jenna Jambeck to create country specific list to track marine debris, working across the numerous stakeholders who engage in monitoring across the country hubs so far joined: \r\nWe initiated this collaboration to respond to the urgent need for data collection on land-based, riverine and marine-based waste in environment. We radiate this work to other country hubs via the International Waste Platform. \r\nThe country hubs in Indonesia, Russia, Timor-Leste, Philippines, Vietnam and Nigeria list on Marine Debris Tracker. Other country hubs developed their individual tracking App (Australia) or have been submitting their data to other data bases (Portugal). At International Waste Platform we promote synergy in data collection.\r\nThe hubs which joined have translated - or are in the process of translating - the list of items which are commonly found at clean-ups.\r\nStakeholders within the particular countries can register under their own organisation names in the country lists, as to enhance their organisation profile as contributor to the data base. \r\nThe database is open source. In research published based on the contributions of above stakeholders will be credited.\r\n\r\n
