Achievement at a glance
New website https://green-indonesian.org/Why is this program unique ?
Educating children about the importance of waste in environment and encouraging them to not litter needs to go hand in hand with the establishment of local waste infrastructure, in order to give practical solutions on how to manage their waste.
In many low-middle income developing countries waste infrastructure is still low.
In Indonesia 45% of the population lives in rural communities spread out over 17.000+ islands and establishing waste infrastructure in these remote regions and communities so far remains a challenge. Most villages are located beyond the reach of the urban waste collection systems.
To support extension of the recyclables network we developed the concept of School Waste Bank.
School are one central point in any community. The School Waste Bank can function as a collection point for recyclables, from both the school as well as community.
Next teacher training for 35 community schools : August 2018 - on Flores, Indonesia
