Progress report for
Achievement at a glance
Soon to launch the sport2clean bins, in collaboration with Robina State High School Sports Academy and City Of Gold Coast Community Divisional Donation Program. The project invites students to design an image for the front of these bins, that reflects litter and plastic waste left behind on sports day, litter that potentially ending up in our oceans. This litter impacts on our marine life and eco systems. The winner of the design gets his or her image placed onto the front of the bins, also receiving a $100 voucher in recognition for their contribution towards ocean awareness through sport. The Sports Academy students will then donate these bins to their nominated Gold Coast City Council sporting grounds ie netball, soccer, rugby, league, swimming, hockey, and cricket. The additional bins now become part of sports days, giving sport a platform for advocacy towards the conservation and sustainable use of our oceans.
