SDG4Youth Network Representative to the HLSC Sherpa Group
Doris Mwikali is the newly elected youth representative to the High- Level Steering Committee Sherpa Group. She’s also a member of the UNESCO SDG4 Youth Network that is within the renewed Global Education Cooperation Mechanism and the global apex body for Education - the SDG4 - Education 2030 High-Level Steering Committee (HLSC).At the network, She serves as Africa’s representative to the SDG4 Youth Network Executive Committee.
Her work at the UNESCO SDG4 Youth Network draws from her solid experience as the partnerships and advocacy lead at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development- Youth Action Hub - Kenya and as a youth leader at the Center for International Private Enterprise ,where she works to advance the financial inclusion of over half a million refugees in Kenya.
She is als the National Youth Climate Action Program lead at the Kenya Red Cross. In this role, Mwikali works to build an ecosystem for the society's 200,000 volunteers to thrive and adapt in the face of the climate crisis. Her work has a keen focus on advancing the climate education of young people through capacity building, advocacy and local actions.
Her innovative approach to youth engagement at the Kenya Red Cross Youth Department has earned her a place at the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Future Fellows Fellowship Program 2022.
