Laura Crivelli
Associate GBV Officer, UNHCR
Laura Crivelli’s passion for international cooperation emerged at teen-age, as a highly involved human rights’ volunteer. She first enrolled with the local Red Cross in her home country (Switzerland), working with refugee and migrant populations, especially with families, non-accompanied children, and older persons. She then supported livelihood and education projects in South America, West Africa, and South Asia, where she engaged with grassroot organizations. During her studies in International Affairs and International Law, she was also Youth Representative at the United Nations. Fascinated by the complexity of multi-stakeholder partnerships and the triple nexus, she worked with a range of public and private actors on sustainable development in Geneva. She also operated as Legal Officer with expertise in gender and human rights during five years in Bolivia, where she specialized in gender-based violence (GBV) response and prevention. She is currently working as Associate GBV Officer at UNHCR (HQ), where she also covered temporarily the gender equality portfolio in 2021. Laura is certified in quality management of humanitarian projects, conflict resolution, and child protection.
