Background
The Division for Sustainable Development Goals (DSDG) of the United Nations Department for Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) is continuing its Voluntary Local Review Series with a workshop that focuses on the institutional arrangements local, regional and national governments have put in place to coordinate and implement their SDG work.
The workshop aims to bring together representatives of cities, regions and national governments to share good practices and lessons learned on monitoring progress towards global goals at the local level.
The workshop will consider how coordination can be ensured among various parts of the government as well as with actors outside the government, such as civil society and private sector, and how these arrangements can contribute to integrated approaches to SDG implementation. The workshop will also aim at providing practical tools for utilizing effective mechanisms for Voluntary Local Review processes.
