This session will discuss sustainable transport in the context of regional development and identify related solutions and recommendations as well as feature success stories. It will take stock on main elements of successful (multi-modal) transport systems and services supporting regional development. It will include reflections on better aligning funds and capacity-building support from UN Regional Commissions and MDBs with the achievement of the SDGs and climate action. The discussion will be focused on prioritizing key areas and measures for sustainable transport in supporting regional development in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, and other economic and climate shocks.
